This summer, more than 200 Caring Gene® Program participants graduated or are on track to graduate, with hundreds more entering the workforce over the next year. They’re part of a growing pipeline of well-trained professionals from all 30 counties in our service area who’ve enrolled in the CPT Program, which covers tuition and books for those new to or advancing their careers in an approved healthcare, behavioral health, or social care title.
And every one of these participants must complete a three-year service commitment at an approved site after graduation, meaning the CPT Program isn’t just a training pipeline. It’s part of the state’s broader effort, one we’re proud to administer alongside other organizations, to address the staffing shortages impacting your facilities.
We’re still actively recruiting for several entry-level pathways—CASACs, community health workers, LPNs, and pharmacy technicians, among others—to fill the gaps your teams are navigating each day.

Employers who complete the attestation process and are approved by the New York State Department of Health are featured on our website and can post job opportunities on a dashboard exclusively for Caring Gene® participants.
